This website, www.rope-safe.co.uk, is run by Ropesafe Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13494129. Our registered office is Unit C9 Alison Business Centre, 40 Alison Crescent, Sheffield, S2 1AS.

Ropesafe Ltd is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. That means we decide how and why it’s used. If you have any questions, contact us at info@rope-safe.co.uk or on 0161 568 8857.

What information we collect

When you send us an enquiry through the quote form or the contact form on this website, we collect the details you give us. That can include:

your name, email address and phone number
your company name
the location of the site where the work is needed
the service you’re interested in and when you need it
a description of the job and any photos you choose to upload

If you email or phone us directly, we keep a record of that conversation and the details you share.

When you visit the website, some technical information is collected automatically, such as your browser type, device, pages visited and roughly where you’re connecting from. See the Cookies section below.

Please don’t include sensitive personal information (for example, health details) in your enquiry. We don’t need it to quote for a job.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
arrange site visits and carry out the work if you go ahead
keep records of the work we’ve done and the advice we’ve given
improve our website and understand which pages and adverts bring in enquiries

We won’t sell your information, and we won’t add you to a marketing mailing list unless you’ve asked us to.

Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law we need a lawful reason to use your information. Ours are:

Taking steps before a contract: when you ask for a quote, we use your details to give you one.
Contract: if you hire us, we use your details to carry out the work.
Legitimate interests: keeping sensible business records and running and improving our website, in ways you’d reasonably expect.
Legal obligation: keeping certain records, such as invoices, for as long as the law requires.
Consent: for any cookies that aren’t strictly necessary. You can change your mind at any time.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where we need to. The companies we use to run the business are:

Wix.com, which hosts this website and stores form submissions. Wix may store data outside the UK, including in Israel and the United States. Israel is recognised by the UK as having adequate data protection, and transfers elsewhere are protected by approved safeguards.
Microsoft, which provides our email and file storage through Microsoft 365.

We may also share information with subcontractors working on your job, with our insurers or professional advisers, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t turn into work: 2 years from our last contact, then deleted.
Customer records, quotes and invoices: 6 years after the job ends, which is how long we may need them for tax and legal claims.

Cookies
